High pressure sliding off to our south and east will turn winds around to the southwest today, making for less cold conditions. A weak disturbance moving by to the north will bring an increase in clouds today and some drizzle tonight into the day tomorrow. Some of the colder valleys and the northern tier could get just cold enough to allow for drizzle to freeze on some surface. A warm front approaches on Sunday. Rain will start to over spread our southern counties late in the day and the rest of region as we head into the night. Rain will continue into Monday, but current indications are it will end during the morning or midday hours. High pressure will be in control Tuesday as it starts to turn cooler again. Then we have a very complicated system to deal with on Wednesday, the busiest travel days of the year. Models vary from a total miss (the Canadian) to a major winter storm (the European) and about every increment in between. At this point, I don’t want to commit to strongly in either or any direction, but suffice it to say since the European tends to be the best model, this time frame is its bread and butter and its a major holiday travel day, I am concerned.
